Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 10:26PM I finally got to make the drive out east on US 40 to Charlottesville, IN last Saturday to check out an old school I'd been told about. I did some 35mm work out there as well as some 4"x5" instant fuji negatives. Angi came along and shot some video. We found tons of sites along the way and will be making some return trips soon.
The school was really something to see. It was enormous. It had apparently served as a high school at some point, but other than that I don't know much about it. It was boarded up tight and covered in no trespassing signs. Peeking in the windows you could see that the building had been privately owned for a good while and had been used to store someone's hoarding collection. Every inch that I could see had been stacked with someones piles of junk... We didn't venture inside on this one.

Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 07:57PM I made it into a pretty spectacular site Saturday morning. It was the huge Revival Temple Church just north of downtown Indianapolis on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Angi went with me and assisted this time. I shot about thirty frames of 35mm film and Angi shot video of the entire shoot. This place has been sitting empty for a good while now and has really started to come apart recently. We had to enter through the lower level into complete darkness and then seal ourselves inside to prevent anyone from following us in. Once inside we had to find our way through to the stairs to the sanctuary. There were artifacts everywhere and the place appeared to be sitting exactly as it had been left--no signs of vandilism or scavenging. Here are a few of my favorite frames from that day...
