Bargersville, IN...

I'm finally going through the backlog of film that I've shot but haven't had time to process.  These frames were taken back in December of 2011.  I was working in my hometown of Bargersville on an old abandoned farm that my Aunt knew of.  I posted a couple of frames from the site earlier but I never made it back through the rest of the roll.  Herer are a few of my favorites...

New work from Banta, IN...

After 10 weeks of preparation for the Artsgarden exhibition I was finally able to get back out and shoot some film last Saturday!  It felt really good to be back at work.  I scouted out two new sites and stopped to shoot a few frames in Banta, IN.  Here they are... Enjoy!

Artsgarden Update...

The Artsgarden exhibition is now well underway.  It's going very well.  The opening night was a great success with a huge turnout and lots of excitement about the work.  The work has been very well recieved by people of all ages and backgrounds and its been really rewarding to see people having such a universal connection with what I'm doing.  The Arts Council of Indianapolis and the staff at the Artsgarden have been great to work with.  THANK YOU to everyone who has made it out to see the work!  If you haven't made it yet there is still time--the exhibition runs through March 29. Here is a photo of the Artsgarden setup just before the opening and a quick video taken at the end of the night. Enjoy!

Update...

Bargersville, Indiana . December 31, 2011 . 35mm Frame

I just want to take a few minutes to update everyone on what's been going on.  I haven't made a post in several weeks, but I've been very busy and hard at work behind the scenes.  I've been working on lots of stuff.  First of all I've been preparing all of the work for my upcoming solo exhibition at the Indianapolis Artsgarden--still lots of work to do but all of this is on track and shaping up nicely.  I'm also working to finalize plans for another big exhibition and I have a third body of work that I'm in the early stages of developing.

I have shot so many locations in the past few months that I can't even get it all processed.  I have several rolls developed that I haven't been able to scan and I even have exposed rolls that are yet to be developed.  Likewise I have had such an influx of tips for potential sites that I am completely backed up on getting out to work at all of them.

I will continue to work despite the back up.  Until the Artsgarden exhibition is hung it will likely remain fairly quiet here on the blog as I plan to hold off on developing and processing for the time being.  I will just stack up my rolls and catch up later...

ALSO...  I'm VERY excited to say that I have begun gathering new equipment in preparation for wetplate collodion work.  I have a Dallmeyer Rapid Rectilinear 8.5 x 6.5 lens on its way!

I'll update again with final details about the Indianapolis Artsgarden exhibition once I have them.  Until then rest assured that good things are on the way.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
